[Shearing Title]

2016 Shearing Schedule [0]

On Saturday 30 April 2016 I sent out this email message to those of my customers who had scheduled shearings with me:

This is the email that I don't want to write. Sometime in the past month or so there's the mystery of it, I don't know when it happened I somehow managed to injure my left knee. You know that my knees are important to me. Almost everything about my left knee is fine: walking is fine, up and down stairs is fine; squatting is fine. What is not fine is that it hurts when I am on my knees as I must be when shearing.

So here is the sentence that I don't want to write. I think it is time to be done. Because the injury has not healed in the time that I've been aware of it, I don't have much expectation that it will magically be healed before I must get down on my knees to start shearing again. For that same reason, I am obligated to tell you so that you may make other arrangements. I apologize for holding out this long.

Please don't ask if I know other shearers whom I would recommend. I do not. I know that there are other shearers out there, but since I have never worked with them I am not qualified to recommend them. Your best source of information about other shearers is other local alpaca and llama owners.

I've had a dozen great years and don't regret a minute of it. I have enjoyed working with and for all of you. Really. For me, shearing is fun. Thank you for allowing me to do it.

So, the message is written, everyone who should get a copy of this message has been added to the bcc line, all that is left to do is push the send button and that is the hardest thing of all ...
