Second X Marks the Scot Kilt

This page documents the construction of my second X Marks the Scot tartan kilt. This kilt will be pleated to the stripe. I will try to be better at documenting the construction of this kilt than I was at documenting the first one. Certainly, the construction of this kilt will be slower (I'm only working weekends on it) than the last.

I bought this tartan from Fraser and Kirkbright's remnants page. It was on the remnants page because one of the two selvedges was damaged. The first X Marks kilt was made with the half that had the good selvedge. While I could have decided to make this kilt with a hem, I chose not to do that and instead just let the hem ravel. Once the pleats are pressed, I may take a couple of stitches at each fold to minimize the raveling. Or not.
